ABOUT BASIS CONSUMER SERVICE

Communication is an essential cornerstone in cooperation. This is especially true when it comes to the health of individuals. In most cases, health data is exchanged, which is why this must be done in a particularly secure manner. gematik has created the secure basis for this with the set of rules for "Communication in Medicine" (KIM). In addition to the KIM mailbox, the components required for communication are the Basis Consumer for sending and retrieving messages. These messages are structured and used differently within the highly secure KIM shell, depending on the specialist procedure.

Worldline was the first provider to have a Basis Consumer approved as a product in 2020 according to gematik's specifications, and has repeated this with the new specification for handling large volumes of data. Our customers can operate the Basis Consumer as a software solution with the optimized hardware security modules from Worldline in their own data center or use the service from Worldline.
